CHEF MARTIN DALSASS

Top Chef Martin Dalsass, who was born in South Tyrol in 1956, turned his passion for genuine, outstanding food into a career early in life. After his apprenticeship in Bolzano and significant experience in South Tyrol, Paris and Switzerland, from 1980 on he demonstrated his skills as a Chef at Hotel Bellevue in Gstaad. As early as 1985 he opened his first restaurant Santabbondio close to Lugano. His Mediterranean-style culinary arts immediately achieved a Michelin star and 18 Gault&Millau points. In 2001 Gault&Millau awarded him "Chef of the year". When Martin and his family took over the historic Talvo restaurant close to St. Moritz in 2011 the awards soon followed. Since then the olive oil pope, as those in the know honor him, has fascinated and enthused gourmets from near and far with his warm hospitality and Mediterranean instincts.
